Simple Present Tense
What is the simple present tense?
The simple present tense is when you use a verb to talk about something that happens continuously in the present tense like daily, weekly, or monthly. Use the simple present tense for things that happen frequently or are factual. The structure of the Simple Present Tense is:
S + am/is/are + V +….
Here are some examples:
a. You go to Library every day
b. We study at school every day
c. Every monday they Swim in the pool
How it looks?
Use simple present tense verbs in the base form of the verb. Do not add suffixes such as "-ed" or "-ing". As in the previous example, I used the root forms of "go", "study", and "swim".
However, it changes the present simple verb when the subject represents "he", "she", or "it". To do this, add "-s".
Check out these examples:
a. Cleora sings with her sister
b. He plays guiter in the living room
c. She cooks rice
"sings", "plays" and "cooks" are simple present tense verbs with a subject of "he" or "she" versions, so the "-s" is required. Exceptions to this rule are when the verb ends in 's', 'x', 'sh', or 'ch'. In such cases you need to add "-es".
For examples :
a. Axel watches movie at the cinema XXI
b. He washes clothes every day
c. She kisses that cute cat
